About the authors

Andrew Bond (MA MSc PhD DIC MICE CEng) is a UK delegate on the Eurocode 7 committee, a former member of UK's National Strategy Committee, and co-author of BSI's Guide to the Structural Eurocodes. After his pioneering research at Imperial College on pile behaviour, he developed the geotechnical design programs ReWaRD® for embedded retaining walls and Repute® for pile groups. A former editor of Geotechnical Engineering, he has over 25 years experience in geotechnical research and design and has delivered Eurocode 7 training courses to many organizations, including the Highways Agency, the Health and Safety Executive, and the Singapore Building Construction Authority.

Andrew Harris (MSc DIC MICE CEng FGS) is co-author of BSI's Guide to the Structural Eurocodes and a frequent speaker on Eurocode 7 and the design of pile foundations. As Associate Dean at Kingston University, he was responsible for maintaining educational course standards for civil engineering undergraduates and postgraduates. He has over 25 years experience in geotechnical consultancy to contractors and consultants, particularly in relation to foundation design.
